Some people are born with music in their veins. Cristián is one of them.

The muse has awoken very early on for Cristián and established itself as a paramount presence in his life that never left his side. From his youngest years, he had a deep appreciation for the very core of music: its intrinsic nuances, its vibrant highs and soulful whispers, its endless beauty that envelops the heart and fills it with emotion.

Music, the art of creation, the skill that it takes to turn a mere idea into a song that captures the — mystical, almost — essence of what each note tries to convey… all of that formed Cristián’s life and transformed his music. He is a well-rounded master of music who had been on a journey of his own, with his early works being influenced by the amazing classical works of Bach and Mozart. As he continued to explore the world of sound, his tastes shifted to include more popular, “mainstream” artists such as Sinatra, The Beatles, Miles Davis, Rush, Metallica, and many more.

Over thirty years ago, in 1990, Cristián made the fateful choice to study sound engineering. That decision changed his life. In the second year of his studies, he had landed his first big opportunity — a live gig with the biggest live sound company in Chile, “Stecher Sound”.

Many of the greatest artists have humble beginnings, and Cristián was not afraid to settle for pulling cables as part of his first job. His work had given him the opportunity to meet his first mentor, the man who played a part in changing Cristián’s life — the distinguished Manuel “Nano” Stecher. Cristián spent six years under Nano’s wing, learning that only the sky is the limit when you open your eyes to the possibilities.

Thanks to his mentor, Cristián participated in some of the biggest productions of musical live events, including Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, Metallica, Rolling Stones, Phil Collins, Sepultura, Living Color, Megadeath, KISS, Sting, Slayer, Charles Aznavour, Three Tenors (Pavarotti, Domingo, Carreras), and many more. During this exhilarating period of his career, he hadn’t neglected to nurture further engineering mentorships with artists like Chick Corea, Youssou N’Dour, Jon Scottfield, Jethro Tull, Michell Petrucciani, Jeff Beck, Baden Powell, Leon Gieco, Ratones Paranóicos, Papo, and Marta Sánchez, just to name a few.

July 1997, in the height of summer, brought on another massive change that altered the course of Cristián’s career forever. He was honored with an invitation to work with the internationally acclaimed music producer/engineer, Humberto Gatica.

His connection with Humberto aided him in landing the most incredible collaborations with first-class producers of global fame. He had the opportunity to work with masters of music, namely David Foster, Quincy Jones, Walter Affanasief, Trevor Horn, Will.I.Am, and Red One.

It’s safe to say that Cristián’s career “blew up” as his skill and understanding of the depths of sound & music jettisoned him to a place where working with world-class acts was the norm. He was now highly sought after, and this allowed him to carve his name into the stars by working with artists such as Michael Jackson, Michael Bublè, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Huston, Celine Dion, and many more. Cristián realized that this wasn’t just a job — it was what would turn into a lifetime of authentic music production in its purest and finest form.

Cristián has mastered the art of MUSIC CREATION.

For the past 20 years, Cristián has dedicated his life to music production. With each track he worked on, he left a part of his heart and spirit behind, but the love he has for his job makes both of these resources endless. He had moved to Los Angeles to continue working on music production, mixing, engineering, and recording services.

Cristián is renowned in the music industry for his impeccable work ethic, endlessly inspirational approach to creation and the utmost respect for the artist’s creative vision. His innate sensitivities and years of experience in the field allow him to effortlessly create & nurture the perfect creative environment that lends itself to positive and meaningful music collaboration.
